May 19, 2026 - Has your child, or children that you work with, suffered trauma that’s causing them problems, such as sleepless nights, timidness, anxiety, depression, difficulty forming relationships, or challenges with school success? Kel Sprague’s new book just may be able to help.
A holistic mindset coach, Brain-Based Healing practitioner, and the children and families specialist with Operation Warrior Resolution, in Bradenton, Florida, Sprague’s work with children and families led her to write Sidewalk Magic: Resolving General Trauma in Children, to be published in July.
Sidewalk Magic, beautifully illustrated by Bryan Werts, is the first release in the “Star Stories” series of storybooks that utilizes Brain-Based Healing methods through literature. This method passively neutralizes the effects of traumatic experiences in the hearts and minds of children and children at heart. The story transforms how the brain has been processing information and delivering thoughts, emotions, and reactions to the mind.
There is also a companion guidebook and curriculum, written and illustrated by Jessie Marks under Sprague’s direction, that accompanies the main book (sold separately). The guidebook has some excellent exercises for kids that augment what they get out of the main book.
